On models without an air filter dirty indicator, check the condition of the air filter at every engine oil change and replace every 40,000 km. This figure is recommended by the manufacturer, however, taking into account the operation of vehicles in the Russian Federation and CIS countries, we recommend replacing the air filter every 10,000/15,000 km.
Caution: Using an incorrect or dirty air filter can cause premature engine wear.
The air filter is located in the front corner of the engine compartment on the passenger side.
1. If necessary, disconnect the exhaust duct from the air filter housing (see chapter "injection system").
2. If necessary, disconnect the connector (1) air flow sensor.
3. Loosen the air filter housing cover screws, then lift the cover slightly. If the air duct was removed, then the cover can be removed. Remove the filter element.

Attention: be careful not to damage the mass air flow sensor and its wiring.
4. Visually inspect the filter element for contamination, oiling, obstruction or damage. Replace filter element if necessary.
5. If the filter element is slightly dirty or clogged, remove dust and other contaminants by blowing compressed air from the outside.
6. Check the rest of the air filter for clogging, contamination or damage.
7. Replace the filter element and install the cover. Tighten the mounting bolts.
9. If disconnected, connect a socket of the gauge of the mass expense of air.
10. If disconnected, connect the outlet duct to the air filter housing.
