
On models without an air filter contamination indicator, the air filter condition must be checked at each engine oil change and replaced every 40,000 km. This figure is recommended by the manufacturer, however, taking into account the operation of cars in the Russian Federation and the CIS countries, we recommend replacing the air filter every 10,000/15,000 km.
Caution: Using an incorrect or dirty air filter can cause premature engine wear.
The air filter is located in the front corner of the engine compartment on the passenger side.

1. If necessary, disconnect the air outlet duct from the air filter housing (see chapter "Injection system").

2. If necessary, disconnect the air flow sensor connector (1).

3. Loosen the air filter housing cover screws, then lift the cover slightly. If you removed the air duct, you can remove the cover. Remove the filter element.

Caution: Be careful not to damage the MAF sensor or its wiring.
4. Visually inspect the filter element for contamination, oiling, clogging or damage. Replace the filter element if necessary.
5. If the filter element is slightly dirty or clogged, remove dust and other contaminants by blowing it out with compressed air from the outside.

6. Check the remaining air filter parts for clogging, dirt or damage.
7. Install the filter element in place and install the cover. Tighten the mounting bolts.
9. If disconnected, reconnect the MAF sensor connector.
10. If disconnected, reconnect the air outlet duct to the air filter housing.
11. (Models with air filter contamination indicator) To reset the indicator, press the button on top of the indicator housing.
