Adjusting the parking brake (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

1. Adjust the rear brakes.

2. Release the parking brake.

3. Raise and secure the vehicle securely.

4. Check the parking brake cables for free movement.

5. Lower the vehicle.

6. Move the front seats forward to provide adequate working space.

7. Pry up and remove the plastic covers that cover the access holes for the screws that secure the parking brake console cover to the tunnel brackets.

8. Remove the screws securing the parking brake console cover to the tunnel brackets.

9. Lift the console cover to access the parking brake lever and adjusting nut.

10. Partially raise and secure the vehicle.

11. Turn the adjusting nut on the parking brake lever until the wheels become difficult to turn.

12. Next, loosen the nut until the rear wheels begin to rotate freely.

13. Lower the vehicle.

14. Install the parking brake console cover and secure it to the tunnel brackets with screws.

Tightening



Tighten the parking brake console cover mounting screws to the tunnel brackets to a torque of 2.5 Nm.

15. Install and snap into place the plastic covers that cover the access holes for the parking brake console cover mounting screws to the tunnel brackets.

16. Return the front seats to their original position.
