... and a special "13" key for pipeline nuts.
If during operation there are leaks of brake fluid on the brake drum and the inner side of the wheel, or the pistons in the cylinder are jammed, replace the slave cylinder.
1. Loosen the rear wheel mounting nuts on the side of the cylinder to be replaced, place the anti-rollback stops ("shoes") under the front wheels. Switch to I-gear in the manual transmission or set the automatic transmission selector lever to the "P" position (parking). Use the jack to lift the rear of the vehicle and place it on secure supports.
2. Check that the parking brake lever is lowered all the way down (the car is released).
3. Remove the rear wheel.

4. Remove the brake drum (see "Removal and installation the brake drum").

5. Remove the brake pads (see "Replacing the brake pads of the rear wheel brake mechanism").
6. Clean the brake pipe mounting location and the working cylinder mounting bolts from dirt on the back side of the brake shield.

7. Unscrew the nut securing the brake pipe to the working cylinder...

8. ...slide the nut along the pipeline, disconnect the tube and plug its opening, for example, with an air release valve cap.
USEFUL TIP: After prolonged use, the brake pipe nut "grows together" with the pipe into a single whole, so when you try to unscrew the nut, the pipe twists and breaks. In this case, just slightly move the pipe nut, then unscrew the cylinder mounting bolts and disconnect it from the pipe, unscrewing the cylinder from its nut. After disconnecting the cylinder from the pipe, the mobility of the released nut can be restored by wetting it with brake fluid and turning the nut with a wrench alternately in both directions.

9. Loosen the two bolts securing the slave cylinder to the brake shield...

10. ...unscrew the bolts, holding the cylinder from the other side...

11. ...and remove the slave cylinder.
NOTE: Pay attention to the marking of the working cylinder. For replacement, purchase a cylinder with the same marking.
12. If the new cylinder's air bleed valve does not have a protective cap, remove it from the old valve.

13. Install the slave cylinder in the reverse order of removal.
14. Install the brake pads.
15. Install the brake drum.
16. Bleed the brake system (see "Bleeding the hydraulic brake system").
17. Press the brake pedal sharply several times to bring the brake shoes to the drum.
