Stretcher
Stretcher (front axle beam) with longitudinally spaced attachment points to the body (four attachment points: two on the right and two on the left). Suspension arms, rack and pinion steering, anti-roll bar of the car are fixed on the subframe.
Wishbones
The transverse levers are fixed to the subframe with two rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks), the front of which has a longitudinal horizontal axis, and the rear - vertical. The other end of the transverse arm is connected by a ball joint (ball joint) with swivel. The ball joint is fixed to the lever with two bolts. The points of attachment of the lever to the subframe are spaced longitudinally with respect to the car at a sufficient distance to ensure the rigidity of the wheel attachment when traction or braking force is applied to it. Therefore, the front suspension does not contain longitudinal torque rods.
Steering knuckles
Steering knuckles, the lower part of which is connected by means of ball bearings to the suspension arms, and the upper part is attached to the shock absorber struts with two bolts each. The front wheel bearing is pressed into the steering knuckle. The front wheel hub is pressed into the bearing. The hub includes a splined shaft of a constant velocity joint (SHRUS) drive shaft. The splined part of the CV joint is fixed in the hub with a nut screwed onto the threaded tip of the splined shaft of the CV joint. In addition, the steering knuckle is connected by means of a tie rod end to the rack and pinion steering mechanism. Also fixed to the steering knuckle is a front disc brake caliper and a shield that covers the open inner part of the brake disc.
Roll Stabilizer
The anti-roll bar of a car is a curved elastic rod that works like a torsion bar (twisting). If there is a difference in the position of the right and left levers in the torsion bar of the stabilizer, twisting forces occur that prevent the vehicle from developing a roll when cornering. The stabilizer is fixed across the car on the subframe with two clamps and rubber bushings. The ends of the stabilizer are connected to the stabilizer bars by means of hinges. Another (upper) the end of the stabilizer bar at the hinge is attached to the body of the shock absorber strut.
Shock absorber struts
The shock absorber struts are connected at the bottom with two bolts to the steering knuckles. The shock absorber rods are attached with rubber-metal hinges to the mudguards of the front wheel arches. The rubber-metal joint contains a bearing through which the shock absorber rod passes. The bearing eliminates friction when turning the wheel and prevents the damper rod from rotating in the housing. The hinge on the shock absorber rod is attached with a nut screwed onto the rod. On the body of the shock absorber strut, the lower stop of the front suspension spring is placed, and the upper stop of the spring (stamped steel cup) attached to the stem with a nut. The suspension spring is pre-compressed between the upper and lower stops. Thus, the shock absorber struts contain an elastic element and act as suspension vibration dampers. The upper end of the stabilizer bar is attached to the body of the shock absorber strut using a hinge.
